Cancellations And Closings: Annual REMC Meeting, Senior Services

WARSAW — The following organizations in Kosciusko County and surrounding areas have announced event cancellations and postponements as a result of concerns over coronavirus:
Annual REMC Cooperative Meeting
Due to concerns regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, and following the recommendation of the CDC, the board of directors of Kosciusko REMC has decided to suspend the cooperative’s annual meeting, currently scheduled for Friday, March 28 at Christ’s Covenant Church. KREMC will continue to monitor the situation to determine if the meeting can be rescheduled and held on a later date.
In an effort to keep this community healthy and to do their part to prevent the spread of the virus, KREMC is urging all members to be cautious and use alternative ways to pay their bills to avoid possible exposure to the virus. The cooperative reminds members they can access their account at kremc.com and through the KREMC app. Payments can also be made over the phone or at the payment kiosk located in the KREMC parking lot.
Kosciusko Community Senior Services
Per David Neff, executive director at Kosciusko Community Senior Services, all non-essential activities have been suspended at this time, and the Senior Activity Center is closed. This move comes after an advisory from the Kosciusko County Health Department.
Essential services, such as home-delivered meals and transportation to and from appointments will reman active. Please call (574) 267-2012 with any questions.
WCHS Fundraiser Dodgeball Tournament
The fundraiser Dodgeball Tournament scheduled for Saturday, March 14, at the WCHS Tiger Den, has been cancelled.
St. Paddy’s Street Party
One Ten Craft Meatery in Warsaw has postponed its fifth annual St. Patrick’s Street Party, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 14 along part of Buffalo Street. Dinner service at the restaurant will still be available.
Valley Hometown Fund Alumni Game
Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation has postponed its Valley Hometown Fund Alumni Game, which was originally scheduled for Friday, March 13. TVSC will announce a new date at a later time.
Waste Tobacco Filters clean-up event
The community-wide “Waste Tobacco Filters” event originally scheduled for Saturday, March 14, has been postponed. A new date will be announced at a later time.
Kosciusko County Democrats
Due to the recent coronavirus outbreak, the Kosciusko County Democrats, in concert with the Indiana Democratic Party, have decided to cancel the Indiana Democratic Party Platform, scheduled for Saturday, March 14; and State Senate candidate Brandon Cavanaugh’s “Selection Sunday Watch Party” scheduled for March 15.
Furthermore, the organization is monitoring the situation and may cancel its April 13 meeting.
