Warsaw FCCLA Wins Several State Awards
WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools’ Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) student organization won several awards at the 2020 State FCCLA Conference, which took place from March 5 to 7.
The following students won awards in these categories:
- Career Investigation: Kendra Lancaster – Gold National Qualifier
- Chapter in Review: Kennedie Paul and Mia Lewis – Silver National Qualifiers
- Fashion Construction: Nadia Guerra – Silver; Liz Lopez-Ruiz – Silver with alternative National Qualifier
- Focus on the Children: Andrew Mendez – Silver; Hannah Shaw, Loundia Helser and Kyrah Durst – Silver
- Leadership: Jesse Viers – Gold National Qualifier
- National Programs in Action: Gage Lind and Olivia Renier – Gold National Qualifiers; Skylar AshcrAft and Kendall Hepler – Silver Alternatives to Nationals
- Repurpose and Design: Samantha Ashenfelter and Tyler Monesmith – Silver
FCCLA is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education in public and private school through grade 12. The Warsaw chapter of FCCLA helps students and teachers focus on a variety of youth concerns, including parenting, family relationships, substance abuse, peer pressure, sustainability, nutrition and fitness, teen violence, and career preparation in four specific career pathways.
