Dorothy R. “Dottie” Brown, 95, Warsaw, passed away at 7:09 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2020, in her residence. She was born on June 4, 1924, to Herbert and Leona Mae (Alexander) Schlomer in Longwood, Missouri.
She moved to Warsaw in June 2007, formerly of Kansas City, Mo. She was united in marriage to John Powers in 1944: who preceded her in death in 1980. She married Gentry Brown in 1988: who preceded her in death in 2006.
Dottie worked as an administrative assistant for the Federal Civil Service Housing & Urban Development with 25 years of service. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw and was involved in the Rosary Alter Society & Eucharist Ministry. She loved the outdoors, was an avid gardener, and quite artistic at arranging flowers. She especially enjoyed cooking.
Dorothy is survived by son: John R. (Rebecca) Powers of Warsaw, grandchildren: Amy (Dave) Kistler and Jenny (Travis) Rowland both of Warsaw, great-grandchildren: Ryan, Rebecca, Sadie and Lacie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw with Father Jonathan Norton officiating. A visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Palestine Cemetery, Palestine.
