North Webster Library To Hold Weeklong Silent Auction For Building Funds
NORTH WEBSTER — As the roof is being shingled and interior drywall hung, North Webster Community Public Library pushes onward to raise the final $50,000 needed for additional furnishings for its new larger building.
To help in that effort, the library will host a week-long silent auction from March 16 to 21. A wide variety of donated and handcrafted items will be on display during normal library hours and available for purchase by the highest bidder. Bidding will close at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 21, with winning bidders being notified by phone.
However, more than just a silent auction will happen that week. On Monday, March 16, Writer’s Corner will meet at 10 a.m. to share their compositions about their earliest memories. Later that day at 5:30 p.m., Winter Book Club will discuss “The Outer Banks House” by Diann Ducharme. April’s book selection will be “The Third Daughter” by Talia Carne. It is a historical fiction inspired by little-known true events about the trafficking into prostitution of young Jewish women from Russia to South America during the turn of the 20th century. Copies will be available at Winter Book Club or at the circulation desk.
Tuesday, March 17, is all fun and games during Adult Game Day. Starting at 1 p.m., adults are invited to join in and play a group party game. Enjoy more “me time” at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, during Adult Time. Bring to the library a craft, project or hobby to work on while enjoying an informal time of visiting and fellowshipping with others. Adult Time is held the first and third Wednesday of each month. For those looking for action, Let’s Move meets at 6 p.m. every Thursday for dancing and exercise. It is a free class suitable for adults of all ages and fitness levels.
