Viola Eileen Keppen
Viola Eileen Keppen, 83, Syracuse, went to be with her Lord on Feb. 7, 2020, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born Oct. 11, 1936, in Warsaw, to Lewis and Viola Clara (Scott) Richcreek. She resided in North Webster and Syracuse her entire life. She graduated from North Webster High School in 1954. She was employed by Johnson Controls as a line assembler for over 40 years.
She was actively involved for many years in international missionary ministries and was a volunteer for Wycliffe Bible Translators. She was active in the women’s ministry, JOY (Just Older Youth) and enjoyed volunteering in the nursery at her church, North Webster Church of God. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law: Jay and Me’Chell Keppen, Box Elder, S.D.; a granddaughter: Kristen Heffelfinger; grandsons: Scott Benson, Justin (Heather) Keppen, Michael (Katie) Keppen; foster children: Richard (Jenny) Robles, Sam (Beth) Wug, and Gloria (Rene) Ulloa; 11 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Jerilyn (Charles) Hunter, Curtis (Betty) Richcreek, Max (Sue) Richcreek; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years: Junior Louis Keppen; her parents: Lewis and Viola Clara (Scott) Richcreek; and her brother: Larry Richcreek.
A celebration of Eileen’s life will take place at 2:30 p.m. March 21, at the North Webster Church of God, 302 N. Main St., North Webster, with Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Eileen’s memory to Wycliffe Bible Translators, Gideons International or H.E.A.R.T. Village.
