Janet Eileen Momeyer
Janet Eileen Momeyer, 80, Winona Lake, saw her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, at 1:42 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born on Feb. 25, 1940, in Mansfield, OH, to Velma May (Leedy) Boyer and James LeRoy Boyer. She met and married her husband of 59 years, Robert Ernest Momeyer, Sr., on June 25, 1960.
She was a 1958 graduate of Warsaw High School and attended Grace College in Winona Lake for one and a half years before she married. After spending 29 years in Kokomo, she along with her husband moved back to Winona Lake, where in the late 1980s she worked at the Grace College post office. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed worshiping with her church family at Lakeland Conservative Grace Brethren Church, Warsaw.
She very much enjoyed spending time reading and was a familiar sight to many as she walked the Winona Lake trails and around the island when she was able to get outdoors and enjoy God’s beauty. One of her all time favorite pastimes was simply stopping at East End Double Dip in Peru to get her favorite mint chocolate chip ice cream. Overall the most important part of her life was her family and grandchildren, she loved them more than anything. She will be dearly missed and forever loved.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband: Robert Ernest Momeyer, Winona Lake; a daughter: Nancy (Dennis) Brown, Warsaw; two sons: Robert (Sherrie) Momeyer, Jr., Warsaw; James (Debbie) Momeyer, Grand Rapids, Mich.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Leo (Phyllis) Boyer, and Donald (Judy) Boyer, both of Winona Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Friends may also visit an hour prior to the serve from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7.
Janet’s life will be celebrated with a service at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Rob Cover. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
