Warsaw Wolfpack Rugby Gaining Steam
WARSAW – The Warsaw community has seen a fair share of rugby success at the youth level. The club team from Warsaw has won multiple state championship as well as placed high among national tournaments.
Now, it’s time for the adults to make their mark.
The Warsaw Wolfpack Rugby Club is a new men’s startup based in Warsaw. The club, affiliated with USA Rugby, is preparing for its 2020 season which is slated to begin this month. The club is scheduled to compete from March through November in a trio of seasons.
The club is a D4 division of the Midwest among USA Rugby classifications. The team is currently playing a road-only schedule as it looks to solidify the home club and grow locally. Jacob Crone is serving as team captain/president.
The team can be found socially via its Facebook Page as well as contacted via email.
“We first started the club just so all of the people that don’t play in high school or college can reminisce the good days of playing when we were younger,” said Miguel Huizar. “Now we want to build a bigger program for anybody outside of high school who wants to play a contact sport.”
