Loogootee 45, Pioneer 43
The title is the first for Loogootee, which survived a late rally by Pioneer for the championship. Brooklynn Jones had 17 points and five rebounds and Makenzie VanHoy had 15 points and four steals for the champions. For Pioneer, Hailey Cripe had 13 points, nine rebounds and four assists, Madison Blickenstaff had 12 points and seven rebounds, and Olivia Brooke added six points and 10 rebounds.
Loogootee’s Chelsie Sutton received the Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award.

Class 2-A
Linton-Stockton 70, Frankton 28
Linton-Stockton used a 27-6 second quarter to blow out Frankton for its first girls basketball title. Vanessa Shafford had a monster game for the Miners with 26 points, nine rebounds and five assists while teammate Aubrey Burgess had 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Frankton was led by Chloee Thomas with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Frankton’s Bailey Tucker was named the Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award recipient.

NorthWood 37, Salem 29
NorthWood wins its first title in 21 years, surviving the lowest-scoring game in IHSAA girls basketball history. The Black Swish were led by the 19 points and 10 rebounds from Maddy Payne. Kate Rulli added 10 rebounds and Kendal Miller had seven points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. Abigail Ratts had 10 points and four rebounds for the Lions.
Payne was named Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award winner.

Class 4-A
Lawrence North 59, Northwestern 56
Lawrence North capped the night with the biggest upset of all, toppling to two-time defending champion and previously undefeated Northwestern. North had all seven of its players score, led by 22 points from Jayla Smith and 10 points from Katie Davidson. Kristian Young added seven points, 11 assists and three steals. Madison Layden and Kendall Bostic ended their sparkling careers with Northwestern with a combined 45 points and 22 rebounds, but the Wildcats held the remainder of the Tigers to just 5-9 shooting from the floor.
Lauren Gunn of Lawrence North was named the Roy Mental Attitude Award recipient.
