Extension Office To Offer ServSafe Food Manager Class
WARSAW — Purdue Extension Kosciusko County will host a one-day ServSafe food manager class and examination from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. March 11, at the Kosciusko County Justice Building’s video conference room.
Do you own a restaurant or work in the food service industry? Indiana law requires that each food service establishment have one certified food handler on staff and that this food handler be responsible for all periods of the food establishment’s operation. To help local food service establishments meet this requirement, Purdue Extension Kosciusko County offers ServSafe classes and exams. The ServSafe program provides food safety training, exams and educational materials to food service managers. Students can earn the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification accredited by the American National Standards Institute Conference for Food Protection.
This program blends the latest FDA Food Code, food safety research and years of food sanitation training experience. Managers learn to implement essential food safety practices and create a culture of food safety. All content and materials are based on actual job tasks identified by food service industry experts, and this program meets Indiana requirements for food handler operation.
Cost for the full class, exam and textbook is $165 if registered before March 4. Visit the Purdue Extension website for registration information and additional class dates.
