Jenkins Qualifies For State Finals
MISHAWAKA – Caden Jenkins’ senior season continues to shine.
The NorthWood senior will cap his diving career with a trip to the IHSAA State Finals, his third in as many years, after placing third at the Mishawaka Diving Regional Tuesday night.
Jenkins found himself in a three-way tussle with Jack Schwartz of Valparaiso and Zach Ramacci of Lake Central. The trio separated themselves from the rest of the group, and when the 11th dive series had settled, Schwartz emerged as champion with a 478.90. Ramacci would place second at 476.75 and Jenkins third at 475.85.
The three will be joined by Tomas Salas of Penn, Adian Blaze of Lake Central, Josiah Miller of Michigan City, Nolan Szymanski of New Prairie and Ethan Ferba of Hobart at the IHSAA State Finals. Diving prelims begin Saturday morning with finals coinciding with the swim finals that reconvene at 1 p.m.
Other locals at Mishawaka that missed the cut were Nick Hardy and Henry Gatzemeyer of Elkhart Central, Dominick George of Penn, Reid Omilian of Culver Academy, Spencer Houghton of South Bend Riley and Kadin Kelly of Rochester.
