Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
6:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, West Old Road 30 near North CR 350W, Warsaw. Driver: Alma G. Franco De Gutierrez, West CR 250S 4, Warsaw. De Gutierrez’s vehicle collided with a deer. Damages up to $2,500.
5:16 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, West Old Road 30 near West Hoffer Road, Atwood. Driver: James W. Niblette, 49, South Southwood Drive, Warsaw. Niblette swerved on the roadway to avoid another vehicle causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and land in a ditch. Damages up to $2,500.
4:24 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, South SR 15 near CR 550S, Claypool. Driver: Rhonda K. Banghart, 55, South CR 700W, Claypool. Banghart’s vehicle collided with a turkey. Damages up to $2,500.
2:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, North Lake Street near Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Sivakumar Kannappan, 38, East Fort Wayne Street 3, Warsaw; and Jason E. Elliot, 45, North CR 375E, Warsaw. Kannappan failed to yield to Elliot’s vehicle that was already in the roundabout and collided with the passenger side of Elliot’s vehicle. Damages up to $10,000.
6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, North SR 13, north of East CR 1000N, North Webster. Driver: Sharon E. Berner, 56, EMS R4B1 Lane, Pierceton. Berner was traveling north on SR 13 when a large dog entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
6:14 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, East US 30, west of East Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Driver: Courtney A. Patterson, 28, North CR 600W, Larwill. Patterson was traveling west on East 30 when her vehicle slid on the roadway and began to spin. Patterson’s vehicle then left the roadway and rolled several times, coming to a rest on its side. Patterson complained of neck pain as a result of the accident. A passenger in Patterson’s vehicle, Breanna N. Patterson, 27, Larwill, complained of head pain. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to the following accident:
4:54 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, West Winona Avenue near South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Teresa M. Vanderpool Hager, 64, Columbus Street, Wabash; and Jose A. Garcia, 48, West Main Street, Warsaw. Vanderpool Hager was driving her vehicle out of the Peking Restaurant parking lot intending to turn left. She did not see Garcia’s vehicle causing her vehicle to collide with the left-center of Garcia’s vehicle. Damages up to $2,500.
