Herb E. Mann
Herb E. Mann, 91, Grace Village, Winona Lake, passed away at 6:45 p.m., Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, in Grace Village Healthcare, Winona Lake. Herb was born on Jan. 18, 1929, in Adrian, Mich. to Irving D. and Vera (Grimes) Mann. He was united in marriage to Hilda “Liz” Weiss on March 31, 1951, in Michigan.
Herb proudly served his country as a 1st Lieutenant for the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1953 in the Korean Conflict. He moved to Warsaw with his wife in 1958. He worked as a school bus driver for Warsaw Community Schools for 18 years. Herb was the owner of Goose Lake Enterprises Landscaping. He was a member of the Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon. He held memberships with the Northern Indiana 2 Cylinder Tractor Club, Noble County Tractor Club, Oliver Gang, and founding member of Echo’s of the Past Tractor Club.
He is survived by daughters, Mary (Daniel) Wallen of Winona Lake, Susan Mann of North Fort Myers, Fla., Ruth Mann of Warsaw, Nancy (Sam) Hartle of Warsaw; son, William I. Mann of Fort Wayne, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife, Hilda “Liz” Mann on Nov. 28, 2018.
Friends may visit with the family from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 17, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Steve Rahn officiating the service. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, with Military Rites by The American Legion Post#49 and V.F.W. Post 1126.
