NORTH WEBSTER — Updates on the annual North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce Banquet were given at the Monday, Feb. 10, meeting at the Tippecanoe Township Building, Board member and dinner chairman Susan Stump, The Papers, said the committee is still accepting donations of items and gift certificates for the silent auction, which will begin at 5 p.m. Monday, March 9, at the Owl’s Nest.
Invitations have been mailed out and RSVPs are starting to come in. A reminder email will be sent. The social time is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and awards given about 7 p.m. Chamber board members turned in their ballots for Large and Small Member of the Year and for Person of the Year.
President Mindy Scaggs, RE/MAX Lakes, conducted the meeting. Stump and Martha Stoelting, The Papers, reminded the group the North Webster Community Guide ad sales and article seeking are in progress. Deadline for members to join to be included in the guide is Saturday, Feb. 15. Visit www.northwebster.com for details and an application.
Dixie Day Festival will be held Saturday, July 25. Scaggs will again be chairman but is looking for as much volunteer help as possible from the chamber membership. Most committee chairmen for the festival agreed to do it again, with some stipulating it was the final time.
Seven new members have joined the chamber for 2020 so far and many members have renewed. Scaggs expressed gratitude to all who have done so. She also thanked Vice President Emily Shipley, Todd Realty-ERA Powered, for her quick assistance in entering North Webster in an HGTV Home Town Takeover and Makeover Contest and for sending out the survey to members.
Everyone is encouraged to send back the survey as soon as possible, Shipley mentioned. Members should have received it by email. If you are a member, and have not received the survey, email [email protected] and ask for it to be sent.
Board member Elise Guy, Guy’s Lawn Service, agreed to be in charge of the Member of the Month sign delivery and notification. The next meeting of the chamber board and membership will be the annual dinner Monday, March 9, Owl’s Nest, 7369 E. 800N, North Webster.
