Carson Ousley
Carson Ousley, 86, Grace Village Retirement Community of Winona Lake, passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020.
He was born on Aug. 25, 1933, in Floyd County, Kentucky to Melvine (Pitts) Ousley and Alvin Ousley. On July 30, 1956, he was married to Mary Nancy (Salmons) Ousley, who survives.
Carson enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He worked for the Nickel Plate Railroad for ten years and retired after working for over 30 years at White Metal in Warsaw as a crew leader. He was a member of Free United Baptist Church in Pierceton, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Mary Nancy Ousley, Warsaw; three sons: Donald (Tena) Ousley, Warsaw; Gregory Ousley, Warsaw; Roger (Doris Kay) Ousley, Olive Branch, Miss.; and his daughter: Verdella (Dale) Walters, Warsaw. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two brothers: Wade Ousley, Winona Lake; Charles (Darlene) Ousley, North Manchester; and his sister: Bernice Coon, Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Hager, Homer, Joner, and Bernos Ousley; four sisters: Hazel Haywood, nan Robinson, Earcel Owens, and Magdalene Howard; and his grandson: Darell Scott Ousley.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Carson’s life will be celebrated with a service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb., 13, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Etsie Allen. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Lakeview Cemetery of Silver Lake, with military rites conducted by active duty members of the Army Honor Guard, American Legion Post #49, and V.F.W. #1126 both of Warsaw.
