Watershed Foundation Announces Photo Contest Winners
NORTH WEBSTER — The winning photos of The Watershed Foundation’s “Picture Your Watershed” photo contest encapsulate the beauty, serenity and fun that area local lakes have to offer.
For this year’s contest, The Watershed Foundation asked the community, “What does lake life look like to you?” and the resulting 91 entries were diverse and impressive.
This was the eighth year of the contest and, according to the judges, the variety of subjects and unique perspectives that are submitted remain fresh and full of life.
The competition’s overall winner was take at Ridinger Lake by Shane Hastings of Shane Hastings Photography. The photo also garnered the most public votes to win the “People’s Choice Award.”
Jennifer Garden won the “Lovin’ the Lakes” category with a fun shot of her son Cade on Lake Tippecanoe. John O’Neill of Chapman Lake won the “Nature’s Studio” category with a stunning shot of sunrise over his channel. The “Wet ‘n Wildlife” category was won by Charity Froebe with her photo of a praying mantis taken at Clayton’s Garden Center in North Webster.
The four winning photographs will be showcased throughout 2020 and the winning photographs win gift cards courtesy of Bart’s Watersports.
