Goshen Woman Faces Theft Charges
WARSAW — A Goshen woman faces multiple theft charges after two alleged incidents at a Walmart store in Warsaw.
Bree Ann Wasson, 32, 18685 CR 40, Goshen, faces two counts of theft, a class A misdemeanor and two counts of theft sentence enhancement, a level 6 felony.
On Jan. 4, police investigated a report of theft at Walmart in Warsaw. Walmart personnel provided surveillance video footage of two alleged instances of theft, said the affidavit of probable cause.
The first instance occurred on Dec. 15, 2019. According to the affidavit, a woman identified as Wasson was recorded selecting items and placing the items into a shopping cart. She then pretended to scan pay for the items and left the store without paying for the items, said the affidavit. The total loss for Walmart totaled $464.09.
The second instance occurred on Dec. 30. Again, a woman later identified as Wasson was recorded selecting items, placing them into a cart, pretending to pay for the itmes and leaving the store. The value of the merchandise totaled $681.55.
Wasson was identified by comparing the video footage with her driver’s license photo, a booking photo and photos on social media, said the affidavit.
Wasson was booked Feb. 3 in the Kosciusko County Jail with a bond of $3,200 surety and cash.
