Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, West US 30 near North 800W, Atwood. Driver: Jiah M. Harvest, 19, South Peters Street, Garrett. Harvest was driving his vehicle behind a slow-moving semi. He said his vehicle hit the back of the semi causing his vehicle to leave the roadway, rollover and land back in its wheels in a ditch. Damages up to $25,000.
8:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, North CR 175E near East Boulder Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Krista M. Wagler, 18, East Defreese Road, Syracuse. Wagler was driving her vehicle when a deer entered the roadway. Damages up to $2,500.
8:33 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, North CR 775E near East CR 1300N, Syracuse. Driver: Dana L. Gaff, 37, North Jefferson Street, Cromwell. Gaff’s vehicle hit a utility pole while making a left turn. Damages up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:09 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, SR 15 near West CR 300N, Warsaw. Drivers: Eric M. Zorn, 17, Ems B34 Lane, Warsaw; and Jerry L. Smith, 80, East Oldfield Drive, Leesburg. Zorn said the front of his vehicle collided with the rear of Smith’s vehicle while approaching a red light. Smith complained of back pain. Damages up to $25,000.
1:22 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 100 North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Driver: Austin D. Cook, West Hughes Drive, Silver Lake. Cook said he was backing out of a parking space when the right side of his pickup truck collided with a landscape boulder at the edge of the lot. Damages up to $1,000.
2:23 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 204 South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Driver: Brandon J. Elmenhurst, 26, Ross Avenue, Warsaw. Elmenhurst backed his vehicle into a parked unoccupied vehicle. He was later arrested for operating while intoxicated. Damages up to $5,000.
7:54 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, West Market Street near South Lake Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Connie M. Herman, 60, East Harvest Ridge Lane, Warsaw; and Zachary S. Erba, 26, East Center Street, Warsaw. Herman and Erba’s vehicles collided while Herman’s vehicle proceeded through the intersection of South Lake and West Market streets. Damages up to $5,000.
2:01 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, East Jefferson Street near Argonne Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Don R. Reiff, 64, West CR 700S, South Whitley; and Anthony Berkshire, 37, SR 19, Goshen. Reiff’s vehicle collided with Berkshire’s vehicle while backing out of the parking spot. Damages up to $2,500.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 12:21 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, Olson Road, between 500 and 600 West. Driver: Nicholas J. Small, 35, Rochester. A vehicle was found totaled on the side of the road. Officers located the registered owner at his address.
- 12:41 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, SR 25 and SR 331. Driver: Jocelyn Rivera, 31, Rochester. Rivera’s vehicle spun out and landed in a ditch.
- 6:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 14768 E. SR 114, Akron. Driver: Clifford L. Ogle, 48, Akron.
Ogle’s vehicle struck a deer. - 6:41 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, SR 114 and 600 West. Driver: Cyndie C. Smith, 19, Fulton. Smith’s vehicle struck a deer.
Marshall County
Officers with the Marshall County Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 2:41 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, SR 17 and SR 8, Culver. Drivers: Barbara D. Lohse, Argos, and Kodie M. Wood, Monterey. Wood’s vehicle was northbound on SR 17, approaching the intersection of SR 8, when Lohse’s vehicle failed to yield the right of way and was unable to stop, colliding with the passenger side of Wood’s vehicle. Lohse complained of back and leg pain and was evaluated at Plymouth Hospital. Joanna G. Weldy, a passenger in Lohse’s vehicle, was entrapped and complained of pain in the back and pelvis and was transported to Memorial Hospital. Dean Kreischer complained of pain to the left side of the head, Jackson Kreischer had a large laceration to the side of the head and Delia Kreischer had multiple facial lacerations, all passengers of Wood’s vehicle were transported to Plymouth Hospital.
