Mishler Among NLC Swim Elite
GOSHEN – Wawasee’s Alexis Mishler earned herself All-NLC honors with her championship in the backstroke last Saturday, and was justly awarded among the honorees announced Tuesday.
Mishler was one of three Wawasee swimmers among the list issued by the conference. Kiah Farrington and Ella Park were both Honorable Mention All-NLC for the Warriors, which finished 5-2 in the NLC grid and were third overall after its third-place finish at the NLC Championships at Northridge over the weekend.
The Northridge Raiders were the clear-cut champions of the conference, winning 10 of the 12 championship events and storming to a 550-point team showing, besting Concord by almost 100 (456). The Raiders were 7-0 in the round robin as well, handing Concord its lone loss. Earning All-NLC honors for Coach of the Year Kyle Hembree’s squad were Elsa Fretz, Anna Yeater, Jiselle Miller, Hailey Clark, Kaitlyn Simons, Kenzie Weber, Ingrid Fretz, Americis Ingling, Syd Nethercutt and Jenna Nethercutt. Alaina Yeater was named Honorable Mention for the Raiders.
Concord had Grace Brenneman and Sophia Stutsman earn All-NLC, Kiran Stauffer and Audrey Lantz both taking Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Warsaw (4-3) had Taylor Gunter named Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Goshen (3-4) had Zoe Eichorn named All-NLC and Sam Hunter as Honorable Mention.
Rachel Terrell of Memorial (1-6) was named All-NLC.
Wrapping up Honorable Mentions were Reagan Koble of NorthWood (0-7) and Gracie Holm of Plymouth (2-5).
