Colleen C. Bryant
Colleen C. Bryant, 93, North Webster, passed away at 8:55 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born on Oct. 31, 1926, in Logan, UT to Tracy William and Grace (Lewis) Colt.
She graduated in 1944 from Lehi High School in Lehi, Utah, and attended Henegar College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was married on Feb. 22, 1954, in Tacoma, Wash. to Sherman Eldon “Sherm” Bryant who survives and moved to the area in 1955 from Washington. She was a homemaker, helped run the family farm, and was formerly employed for Wawasee Community School Corporation as a secretary for the corporation superintendent and secretary at North Webster Elementary for a total of 19 years.
She was raised in the Mormon Faith and was a member of the North Winona Church of the Brethren and Hi Neighbor Club in North Webster. She was a former member of the Charm & Chatter Home Demonstration Club in North Webster.
She is survived by her husband, Sherm Bryant, North Webster; two daughters: Cathleen “Cathy” (Ronald) Shipley of Leesburg; and Carmen (George) Dougherty of Boggstown; two sons, Steve (Sue) Bryant of North Webster and Stuart (Toni) Bryant of Libertyville, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, June Hanson, and brother, John Colt.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and C.R. 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26, in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton.
