Special Prosecutor Named In Community Corrections Case
WARSAW — Kosciusko County Courts announced, Friday, Jan. 17, the special prosecutor for the criminal case against three people including former Community Corrections Director Anna Bailey
Whitley County Prosecutor Daniel J. Sigler, Jr. was announced as the special prosecuting attorney for the criminal case involving Bailey; her former office assistant, Taylor Pagan; and an offender and participant in an electronic monitoring program, Steven Paul Gasaway.
Bailey is facing charges of obstruction of justice and official misconduct, both level 6 felonies; Pagan is charged with aiding, inducing or causing an offense, a level 6 felony; and Gasaway is charged with escape, a level 6 felony, according to court paperwork.
The case stems from a report of internal problems within Kosciusko County Community Corrections and its monitoring program. The issues came to light after Bailey resigned from her position in November 2019.
After Bailey resigned, the department put a pause on new entrants using electronic monitoring devices in the department for a month as officials reviewed office operations.
