SYRACUSE — Wawasee Community School Corporation is offering free trauma training for individuals providing childcare to children ages 0 to 5 in the Wawasee school district.

Training will be held from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at Wawasee High School in Syracuse.

Activities will include a meet and greet from 5:45 to 6 p.m. and the presentation from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Topics covered will include trauma and the brain, how trauma impacts learning, classroom interventions and self-care.

A two-hour professional development certificate will be available at the completion of the training.
