No Serious Injuries In US 31 Crash
PLYMOUTH — No serious injuries were sustained after a pickup truck and trailer rolled over into a ditch with water. The accident occurred around 1:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, on US 31 near 11th Road, Plymouth.
Preliminary investigation by Indiana State Police Trooper Rodd Schuh indicates that, around 1:20 p.m., George Piper, 54 of Plymouth, was driving a maroon 1989 GMC northbound on US 31 near 11th Road. Piper was also towing a trailer that was loaded with a Ford Ranger. Piper began to lose control of the GMC and it ran off the road to the east side of US 31. The GMC rolled onto the driver’s side in a ditch with approximately 2 ½ feet of water.
Piper was quickly pulled from the GMC by an Indiana State Police DES detective who was on scene moments after the crash. Piper was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
The Indiana State Police was assisted by Plymouth Fire and EMS and Lyons Towing.
