Laura M. France Floyd
Laura M. France Floyd, 79, of rural Wabash, died at 3:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Silver Lake. She was born Oct. 30, 1940, in Marion to Forrest Hockett and Pauline (Hueston) Kelly.
Laura married Elmer L. Floyd in Tennessee on Sept. 26, 2000; he died Nov. 24, 2018. She worked 33 years at Invensys Controls in North Manchester. She enjoyed reading and spending time with the grandkids.
She is survived by eight children, Greg Kelly of Gas City, Valerie (Dennis) McHarry of Marion, Melissa Flinn of Silver Lake, Ron (Sabrina) France of Bremen, Vince Floyd, Robert (Becky) Floyd, Darrell Meyer, and Roxie McCoy, all of Wabash; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, two brothers-in-law, Mike Minor of Indianapolis, and Mel Campo of Jonesboro, and her sister-in-law, Phyllis Hockett, of Marion. She was also preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Bill Kelly, three sisters, Virginia Campo, Fran Minor, and Sonia France, and two brothers, Charles and Earl Hockett.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Curt Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4 -8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
