David L. Helmuth
David L. Helmuth, 68, of Milford passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, January 9, 2020. David was born on August 11, 1951, in Prior, Oklahoma to Roy and Mary (Troyer) Helmuth. On January 8, 1983, he married Mary Riggens; she survives.
David lived in the area most of his life moving to Milford four years ago. He was formerly employed at NH Vending out of South Bend before working for Thor Motor Coach retiring in June of 2019. He was a great guy with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, blowing things up with fireworks, working outside doing his yard work and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren. He attended Nappanee Missionary Church for many years.
David is survived by his wife of 37 years Mary, daughter Jackie (Mike) Kunkle of Mishawaka, son Adam (Mindi) Slone of Nappanee, daughter Angel Macias of Milford; eight grandchildren, Sydney (Thomas), Olivia, Isobel, Savannah, Joey, Bennett, Micah and Noah. Also surviving are his siblings, Dorothy Chandler, of Texas, Dora (Duane) Snyder of Texas, Shirley (Dennis) Yoder, of Wakarusa, Dan (Cynthia) Helmuth, of Oklahoma, Marilyn Tabor, of Colorado, and John (Gwen) Helmuth of Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a funeral service Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, at 7 p.m. at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 461 West 900 North, Milford. Pastor Jason Rohde will officiate the service. Burial will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Milford Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial donations in David’s honor may be given to the family.
