Pat H. Meade
Mr. Pat H. Meade, 78, Rochester, passed away at 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, at Traditions at Solana of Indianapolis.
On Aug. 20, 1941, Pat Harmon Meade was born in Bluffton. He was a treasured son of Alvis Charles and Vallera Lousetta Gray Meade. Growing up he shared his childhood with five brothers. He graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1959. To pursue his life dream of becoming a teacher, Pat went to Purdue University earning a degree in mathematics education. Following his Purdue years he answered the call of patriotism serving the the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Pat and Rebecca “Becky” Tarr were married on April 10, 1968, in Elkhart. They have shared 51 years of life’s adventures. From their union came three handsome sons: Ted, and twins David and Doug. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two grandsons.
Left to cherish Pat’s memory are his wife Becky; three sons: Ted Meade of Indianapolis, David Meade of Indianapolis, Doug Meade and wife Jana of Indianapolis; two grandsons: Ethan and Aaron; three brothers: Rex Meade and wife Terry of Dundas, Ontario, Michael “Mike” Meade and wife Mary Dean, Jeff Meade and companion Kathy, all of Bluffton; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Pat in death are his parents Alvis and Vallera Meade, and two Meade brothers, Gregory and Tim.
A celebration of the life of Pat H. Meade will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester. Friends may visit with the family from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery of Bluffton. Military Rites will be conducted by the Fulton County Veteran’s Honor Guard and the US Marine Corp Honors Team.
