Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
12:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, North CR 150W, near North Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Jody L. Torpy, 52, East Barrington Place, Warsaw; and Aaron D. Schrock, 24, North CR 400E, Syracuse. Schrock’s vehicle was stopped on CR 150W at a stop sign when he was rear-ended by Torpy’s vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
10:31 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, South CR 1000W, north of West CR 800S, Mentone. Driver: Owen R. Kirchenstien, 16, South CR 950W, Mentone. Kirchenstien was traveling north on South CR 1000W when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
10:44 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, North East Wawasee Drive, north of East Crow Road, Cromwell. Driver: Mary L. Cook, 73, East Wizard of Oz Way, Cromwell. Cook was traveling north on North East Wawasee Drive when her vehicle left the roadway, striking a utility pole and chain link fence. Cook said she lost control of her vehicle on a patch of ice. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
5:36 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, North CR 1000E, north of East CR 1250N, Syracuse. Driver: Matthew M. Schwartz, 19, North CR 740W, Shipshewana. Schwartz was traveling north on North CR 1000E when his vehicle left the roadway, striking a Noble County REMC utility pole. A passenger in Schwartz’s vehicle, Aden J. Yoder, 18, Bourbon, sustained minor cuts on his nose, ear and right hand, but denied medical attention at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, North SR 19, north of West Hepton Road, Nappanee. Driver: Brooke J. Mast, 17, CR 52, Nappanee. Mast was traveling south on SR 19 when her vehicle entered a ditch, striking a utility pole. Damage up to $2,500.
5:01 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1010 North CR 175E, Warsaw. Driver: Ethan M. House, 21, South Country Club Road, Warsaw. House was traveling south on North CR 175E when his vehicle left the roadway, striking a parked and unoccupied vehicle. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
4:52 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, North Turkey Creek Road, south of East Wawasee Lane, Syracuse. Drivers: Brittany N. Hughes, 24, North Sir Gallahad Place, Cromwell; and Lauren E. Rafter, 34, North Memorial Parkway, Cromwell. Hughes was traveling south on Turkey Creek Road when her vehicle approached a curve south of Wawasee Lane. As she did so, she struck Rafter’s vehicle. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
2:54 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, South SR 25, south of West CR 250S, Warsaw. Driver: Jessamyn V. Rhymer, 29, West CR 475N, Rochester. Rhymer was traveling south on SR 25 when her vehicle went to the right side of the roadway, striking a guardrail on the west side of the roadway. Her vehicle then struck a guardrail on the east side of the roadway. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
12:53 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, East Koher Road South, west of East Norman Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: William E. Geer, 20, East Constitution Drive, Syracuse; and Derrick K. Lavoine, 34, East CR 900N, Syracuse. Geer was traveling west on East Koher Road South when his vehicle went left of center, entering Lavoine’s path of travel. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
10:59 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, South SR 13, south of East CR 850S, Warsaw. Driver: Teal M. Stamper, 29, North Park Avenue, Warsaw. Stamper was traveling south on SR 13 when a crosswind caused her to lose control of her vehicle. This caused Stamper’s vehicle to leave the roadway, overturning into a small body of shallow water. Stamper was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for minor injuries to her knee, lower leg and foot area. Damage up to $10,000.
9:43 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, North Pearl Street, near West Van Buren Street, Leesburg. Driver: Christopher N. Cramer, 28, South Manor Drive, Syracuse. Cramer was making a left hand turn onto Pearl Street when his vehicle slid on the roadway, striking a parked, unoccupied vehicle. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
7:37 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, North SR 15, north of West Plum Street, Leesburg. Driver: Dani M. Giles, 31, CR 42, Wakarusa. Giles was traveling north on SR 15 when her vehicle left the roadway, rolling onto its side. Damage up to $5,000.
6:52 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, South SR 13, near East US 30, Pierceton. Drivers: Albert L. Wallace, 52, CR 68, Spencerville; and Abbie M. Herman, 32, East South Barbee Drive, Pierceton. Wallace was traveling west on US 30 when his vehicle began to slide during his turn, causing him to strike Herman’s vehicle. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
4:20 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, West US 30, near North CR 500W, Warsaw. Driver: Maryan Salim, 26, John Steven Way, Reynoldsburg, OH. Salim was traveling west on US 30 when her vehicle left the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
5:58 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, East US 30, east of South CR 325E, Warsaw. Drivers: Wendell J. Wilson, 83, East East Ridge Drive, Warsaw; and Scott A. Timm, 46, 5th Street, Earlville, Ia. Wilson was traveling south on CR 325E when he attempted to enter a traffic lane to travel east on US 30. As he did so, he entered the eastbound lanes of travel in front of Timm’s vehicle, causing a collision. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $50,000.
Mentone
Officers with the Mentone Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, CR 900W, south of CR 200S, Mentone. Driver: Hagaen M. Slusher, 17, North Parks Schram Road, Warsaw. Slusher’s vehicle left the roadway, striking a fence panel and a tree. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
6:27 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, East US 30, near Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Brenda D. Gervais, 61, South CR 325E, Warsaw; Leobardo J. Reyes, 31, South CR 275E, Warsaw; and Alan J. Bradley, 51, Pine Island Drive, Sparta, Mich. Gervais was traveling east on Lake City Highway when she rear-ended Reyes’ vehicle. This caused Reyes’ vehicle to rear-end Bradley’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
2:58 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, SR 15, north of Lyon Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Terry M. McCord, 60, East CR 200N 71, Warsaw; and Leonardo Guadian, 54, Maye Street, Warsaw. McCord was in a parking lot and was attempting to travel north on SR 15 when he entered Guadian’s lane of travel, causing a collision. McCord complained of back pain and Guadian complained of left hand pain. Both drivers were treated on scene by EMS. Damage up to $25,000.
2:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 3611 Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Babula R. Ambati, 38, Revere Way West, Bartlesville, Okla.; and Mark A. Smith, 63, East Washington Road, Pierceton. Ambati was backing his vehicle from a parking space when he struck Smith’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
8:17 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, Lake City Highway, near Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Lawrence L. Bradley, 32, Evers Street, Dolton, Ill.; and Chad B. Howe, 41, Anchorage Road Lot 109, Warsaw. Bradley was traveling east from Illinois to Ohio when the collision occurred. He could not recall details of the accident. An officer obtained surveillance footage from R&B Car Company of the accident. Howe was traveling west on Lake City Highway and entered the left turn lane at the intersection of Anchorage Road. As he did so, Bradley’s vehicle, which was traveling eastbound, continued into the intersection, causing a collision. Howe was unresponsive at the scene and had to be extricated from his vehicle. He was taken to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne and admitted to the ICU. An officer who responded to the scene was informed by ICU staff that Lowe had a skull fracture, multiple cuts to his face and back injuries. Bradley complained of left arm, right thumb, lower right leg and head pain and was taken to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne. A passenger in Bradley’s vehicle, Tellena Richardson, 20, Chicago, Ill., said she was asleep in the vehicle and was awakened by the collision. Richardson said she was pregnant and had abdominal pains. She was taken to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne for injuries sustained in the crash. A second passenger in Bradley’s vehicle, Jennifer L. Harris-Walton, 21, Chicago, Ill., said she was asleep at the time and woke up to the vehicle spinning. Harris-Walton sustained a fracture to her left foot, a broken left pinky toe, bruising to her ribs, an abrasion to her left arm, swelling to her left hand and a bruised and swollen right calf. She was also taken to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne for injuries sustained in the crash. Damage up to $5,000.
