Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following accidents:
6:16 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, South Packerton Road near East SR 14, Silver Lake. Drivers: Kevin D. Gayheart, 38, North US 35, Winamac; and Kathy A. Sponseller, 61, East Deerwood Court, Warsaw. Gayheart said he was driving east on SR 14 turning north on to Packerton Road. Sponseller was driving her vehicle sound on Packerton Road approaching SR 14. Gayheart said he was making the turn with a trailer attached to his vehicle. Sponseller drove her vehicle to the intersection stop sign. Gayheart was unable to straighten out his trailer during the turn and the trailer collided with the front of Sponseller’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
10:23 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, South CR 700E near East CR 750S, Warsaw. Driver: Ashton G. Shepherd, 16, South Country Club Road, Warsaw. Shepherd said he was driving his vehicle south on CR 700E when his vehicle struck a log in the roadway, causing the vehicle to roll over and exit the roadway. Shepherd suffered minor bleeding on his face and was transported by Lutheran EMS to the hospital. Damages up to $10,000.
6:35 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, North SR 15 near West Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Driver: Lori A. McBride, 43, North Locke Street, Nappanee. McBride was driving her vehicle when a deer entered the roadway. Damages up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to the following accident:
4:38 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, US 30 near North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Amber A. Griffith, 21, South Van Hemert Drive, Syracuse; Kelli A. Vanpuffelen, 40, East Legacy Lane, Winona Lake; and April J. Foreman, 41, East Burkhart Drive, Warsaw. Griffith said she was driving her vehicle east on US 30. She said the light at the intersection of US 30 and North Parker Street was green so she didn’t slow down and didn’t see Vanpuffelen’s vehicle in the middle of the intersection. The front left side of Griffith’s vehicle struck the front right side of Vanpuffelen’s vehicle. This collision caused Griffith’s vehicle to deflect off Vanpuffelen’s vehicle and collide with the front of Foreman’s vehicle. Damages up to $10,000.
