Walter D. Church
Walter D. Church, 86, Warsaw, passed away at noon Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. Walt was born on Jan. 9, 1933, in Hartford, to William and Maida (Anguish) Church.
He was united in marriage to Connie L. Gentry on Nov. 7, 1956, in Warsaw. He was a resident of Warsaw for 65 years. Walt was employed with Gable Construction in Warsaw. He was the Co-Owner of Anguish & Church Construction, Lakeview Sharpening Service since 1974. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #49; member of Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals from 1993 thru 2018, and a participant in the Veterans Honor Flight May 2016. Walt proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 – 1954.
Walter is survived by wife, Connie Church, of Warsaw; children, Cathy (Chris) Lauster, of Fort Wayne; Greg (Diane) Church, of Warsaw; one grandchild, Hope (Jeff) Matchett, of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by brother, Thomas Church.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, in the funeral chapel with Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Interment will follow at North Webster Cemetery Mock Addition.
