Local Teacher Selected As Winner Of Paint It Forward
WARSAW — Employees at Matthews’ Painting Company LLC. have selected a winner for their Paint It Forward campaign.
After reviewing all nominations submitted, Cindy Nash was selected as the winning nominee. Representatives from Matthews’ Painting, located at 8055 East CR 500N, Leesburg, will be painting one or two rooms at Nash’s home.
“We will be showing up on Jan. 11 to start beautifying her walls,” said Jason Matthews, owner of Matthews’ Painting.
Nash is a school teacher who has been educating children in the Warsaw Schools district for many years. Most recently, she serves as the music teacher for Harrison Elementary in Warsaw and Claypool Elementary in Claypool.
Nash is also described as a talented actress who has performed in numerous plays with Center Street Community Theatre at Wagon Wheel Center for The Arts in Warsaw. Nash is scheduled to direct CSCT’s production of “On Golden Pond” in the spring of 2020.
According to information found on Matthews’ Painting FaceBook page, Nash battled cancer in the past. Unfortunately, cancer has returned and she now faces a new battle.
Nash is described on Matthews’ Painting FB page as “a wonderful person with a fun sense of humor, a talent for live theatre and a passion for teaching kids.
“Special thank you goes out to Eddie Van Hartman for giving us this nomination,” Jason said. “Eddie is also going through his own battle with a kidney disease that has now put Eddie on dialysis and in search of a kidney. This has made this nomination extra special to us. He continues his search for an O positive kidney match.”
“May everyone who reads this pray for both of these dear folks,” Jason said.
Anyone can nominate their favorite charity, person or family in need on the Matthews’ Painting website at www.matthewspainting.com. Go to the “Why Us” section and select the Paint it Forward tab.
