WAWASEE 63, WHITKO 55
Wawasee used a consistent offensive approach to pick up a road win Saturday night.
The Warriors scored 17 points in each of the first, third and fourth quarters to get the victory. Keaton Dukes scored nine of his team-high 15 points in the fourth quarter and Austin Miller canned four treys and finished with 14 points. Ethan Hardy added 13 points and seven boards.
The Wawasee JV rolled over Whitko 64-39. Marten Kant had a big night with 16 points, 10 steals, six rebounds and two assists for the Warriors. Collin Roberson added 18 points and eight rebounds. Slater Craig led the Wildcats with 10 points and three rebounds.
JOHN GLENN 65, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 43
Glenn used its size to get past Valley in non-conference buckets on Rita Price Simpson Court.
Valley led 20-16 after the first quarter, but the Falcons rallied with a 17-8 second quarter and outscored Valley by 10 in the third quarter. Khori Barker and Jake Frankiewicz each finished with 10 points and four rebounds for Glenn, added to the 15 points from Rob Porter and 12 points from Carter Yung.
Paul Leasure continued his hot hand, scoring 18 points, Rex Kirchenstien finished with 10 points, two rebounds and two steals and Tanner Trippiedi had nine points, three rebounds and a pair of assists.
NORTHWOOD 49, FAIRFIELD 40
NorthWood used another all-around night from Trent Edwards to clip its backyard rivals.
Edwards finished with 18 points, five steals, four rebounds and two assists to lead the Panthers. Brock Flickinger had a season-high 14 points and Cooper Wiens tossed in 10 points and three rebounds in the win.
Cade Gall led the Falcons with 11 points and Nolin Sharick added 10 points and six rebounds.
WARSAW 50, CROWN POINT 38
Warsaw earned its second win over a Duneland Athletic Conference team in consecutive nights with a win at the Tiger Den.
Jaylen Coon took his turn leading the Tigers, finishing with 14 points and four rebounds. Luke Adamiec had a solid all-around night with 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Brock Poe added nine points and six boards for the Tigers, which move to 5-1 on the year.
Ty Smith paced Crown Point with 20 points and Miles Lubbers added 11 points.
The Warsaw JV won its fourth game of the season with a 43-39 result over the Point. Judah Simfukwe and Jaxson Gould each scored 17 points and combined for 11 rebounds and five assists to lead the Tigers to the win.
TRINITY MIDDLE SCHOOL 33, LAKELAND CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 30
Isaiah Lara scored 15 points, but LCA dropped its first game of the season. Micah Martin added nine points in the loss for the Cougars, now 10-1 on the year.
LAKEVIEW 8TH GRADE WINS HOME TOURNEY
Lakeview defeated Riverview 37-34 and Lake Central 38-35 to win its home tourney. Matthew Mulligan’s three-pointer with two seconds left was the difference in the championship game. Julian Saldivar had 27 points and 11 assists in the two games, and Quentin Maas had 17 points and five rebounds in the two contests.
LAKEVIEW 7TH GRADE ADDS TITLE
Lakeview also made good of its defense of the Lakeview Invite, winning the championship. The Tigers took down Maple Creek 43-33, then Riverview 46-42 to win the championship. Lucas Bricker hit five threes and finished with 17 points to lead Lakeview in the semi-final, and in the final, Kellan Bailey finished with 12 points and nine rebounds and Reed Nelson added eight points and seven rebounds.
