Officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to the following accident:
7:20 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, Detroit Street near West CR 300N, Warsaw. Drivers: Melissa M. Miranda, 32, Cherry Street, Warsaw; and Earl D. Houseman, 43, Townline Road, Ligonier. Miranda was driving her vehicle north on Detroit Street when she didn’t stop her vehicle in time at the stoplight at the intersection of Detroit Street and West CR 300N. The front of her vehicle collided with the rear of Houseman’s vehicle. Damages up to $2,500.
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
11:35 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, South SR 25, Rochester. Drivers: Lonnie Kuhns, Shipshewana; and Pamela McCool, Fulton. Kuhns’ vehicle collided with McCool’s vehicle at Caston School.
5:49 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, SR 14 and CR 900E. Driver: Guillermo Vera, Akron. Hit deer.
7:34 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, East SR 14, Rochester. Driver: Donald E. Eatmon, 52, Rochester. Eatmon’s vehicle went off the road and hit a storage container.
6:54 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, East Sunset Boulevard, Macy. Driver: Dave Babb, no other information available. Hit deer.
6:47 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, East SR 14, Akron. Drier: McKenzi L. Wood, 17, Rochester. Hit deer.
9:08 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, US 31 and CR 300S. Driver: Dustin W. Fullerton, 33, Columbus. Hit deer.
6:18 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, North SR 25, Rochester. Driver: Carol J. Mowrer, 78, Rochester. Her vehicle ran over her leg.
7:28 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, East R 114, Akron. Driver: Scott A. Reese, 32, Akron. Hit deer.
9:19 p.m.Thursday, Dec. 5, Olson Road and CR 600W. Driver: Larry T. Chard, 65, Rochester. Hit deer.
5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, CR 450N, west of US 31. Driver: Amy D. Brown, 44, Rochester. Hit deer.
6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, CR 525E and SR 25. Driver: Robert D. Hume, Mentone. Hit deer.
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
5:27 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, SR 19 and CR 28, south of Elkhart. Drivers: Chaz Hufkens, 21, Mishawaka; and Kenneth Tubicsak, 28, Nappanee. Hufkens was flown by helicopter for life-threatening injuries to South Bend Memorial Hospital. Tubicsak complained of lower back pain. Hufkens failed to yield the right of way to Tubicsak’s vehicle causing the collision with both vehicles going off the southeast side of the road. Hufkens’ vehicle was at his residence at 61022 SR 19.
Officers with the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
2:39 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, US 33 and CR 700N. Driver: Mohmad Nasir Jatala, 28, Osceola; Jatala sustained critical injuries. Passengers David Melendez, 54, Mishawaka, sustained serious injuries; and Amanda Conard, 32, Mishawaka, sustained minor injuries. All three were taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Jatala’s vehicle went across the centerline and off the roadway, rolling over multiple times. Jatala was ejected from the vehicle. The crash remains under investigation.
