County Highway Superintendent Scott Tilden Retiring; Moriarty To Take Over
WARSAW — Steve Moriarty will be taking over as the Kosciusko County Highway superintendent in 2020.
Moriarty, who currently serves as the assistant superintendent, was officially named as the 2020 department head at the Kosciusko Commissioners meeting Tuesday, Dec. 10. He has been with the department for 21 years.
Kosciusko County Highway Superintendent Scott Tilden is retiring after serving as the highway superintendent for the past nine years. Tilden began working at Kosciusko County Highway Department in November 2007, becoming superintendent in September 2010.
Prior to that, Tilden worked at the Fulton County Highway Department. He has a combined total of 39 years of highway department work between the two counties.
“Scott has been fantastic to work with in every way,” said Kosciusko Commissioner Brad Jackson. “He is very conscientious about spending tax dollars. There is great morale in the department. He has definitely become a friend, and I will really miss working with him.”
Tilden was devoted to the job and made sure things ran smoothly, Moriarty said.
“Learning under Scott has been the best experience you could ask for,” said Moriarty. “Learning from the best will ensure that the department will continue to run the same way as it did when Scott ran it.”
Tilden did not attend Tuesday’s meeting.
