Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
1:53 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, South SR 15, south of West CR 950S, Silver Lake. Driver: Kerny C. Jones, 66, South CR 250E, Peru. Jones was traveling south on SR 15 when a group of deer entered his path of travel. This caused extensive damage to the entire front of Jones’ vehicle. Jones was uninjured in the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
11:49 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, East Center Street, east of Prosperity Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Manoj S. Jadapalli, 29, Orchard Drive 8, Warsaw. Jadapalli was navigating a curve on East Center Street when his vehicle traveled left of center, entering a ditch. Damage up to $5,000.
7:31 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 106 S. Higbee St., Milford. Driver: Flora L. Carrillo, 72, North West Street, Milford. Carrillo was backing her vehicle from a parking space when she struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Carrillo was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment for COPD-type symptoms. Damage up to $1,000.
10:31 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, North SR 13, south of East Vawter Park Road, Syracuse. Drivers: Richard W. McCreary, 54, East Jefferson Street Apartment A., Goshen; and Crystal D. Smith, 35, North Harrison Street, Syracuse. McCreary was traveling south on SR 13 when part of his scrap metal load on his vehicle’s trailer blew off, striking Smith’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
8:42 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, North Old SR 15, near East CR 575N, Leesburg. Driver: Sarah L. Kellogg, 55, East Center Street, Warsaw. Kellogg was traveling north on Old SR 15 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
6:03 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, North CR 100E, near East CR 200N, Warsaw. Drivers: Sergio Garcia, 63, East CR 200N 30, Warsaw; and Isabella E. Hamilton, 26, Canterbury Lane, Warsaw. Hamilton’s vehicle was stopped on CR 100E when a southbound vehicle, operated by Garcia, crossed the centerline and struck her vehicle. Hamilton complained of leg pain but refused medical treatment at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
11:58 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, West SR 14, east of South CR 750W, Silver Lake. Driver: Dorothy F. Hanish, 76, South CR 750W, Claypool. Hanish was traveling west on SR 14 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
8:46 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, North Kalorama Road, south of North CR 400E, Leesburg. Driver: Anthony M. Bradshaw, 20, East CR 650N, North Webster. Bradshaw was navigating a turn traveling south on North Kalorama Road when his vehicle left the roadway, striking a fence owned by Tippecanoe Country Club Golf Course. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
8:37 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, US 30, near Arnolt Drive, Pierceton. Driver: Montonyo J. Simmons, 33, Kent Road, Fort Wayne. Simmons was traveling east on US 30 when his vehicle left the roadway, striking a fence and rolling onto its side. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
7:10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, South Packerton Road, near East CR 1000S, Sidney. Driver: Joshua L. Garber, 31, Hillsamer Drive, North Manchester. Garber was traveling north on Packerton Road when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
11:19 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, 133 EMS W11 Lane, south of Epworth Forest Road, North Webster. Driver: Jay B. Riley, 33, North Mill Street, Syracuse. Officers located a vehicle stuck in the grass behind an apartment complex. Upon arrival, the officer did not find the driver. However, Riley was later located back at the vehicle. Medics took Riley to Kosciusko Community Hospital for a blood draw. Damage up to $10,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
8:41 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, North Main Street, east of North Huntington Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Nathaniel K. Boyer, 29, CR 146, New Paris; and Tammi J. Stump, 45, East Lakeview Trail, Leesburg. Boyer was at an intersection and was turning north when he struck Stump’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
