Miriam Alice Sites, 92, of rural Roann, passed at 8:57 a.m., Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, at her residence.
She was born on Jan. 2, 1927, in Miami County, to the late Ernest and Thelma (Miller) Keyes. She married on May 2, 1948, to Verlon K. Sites, who preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 2003.
Miriam was a homemaker as well working for Square D of Peru, and as secretary of the Mexico Elementary School and working in the cafeteria.
She was a 1945 graduate of Jefferson Township High School and attended Manchester College for one year for business. She was a lifetime member of the Mexico Church of the Brethren and was a member of the Perry Do-Rite Home Extension Club for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine (Kenn) Hudson, Roann; daughter-in-law, Diane Sites, Roann; son, Dennis G. (Theresa) Sites, North Manchester; grandchildren: Rewa and husband Kerry McKee, Ryan Sites, Rhonda and husband Craig Smart, Jeremy and wife Kandi Sites, Kevin and wife Courtney Hudson, and Leeshan Hudson; great-grandchildren: Josey Sites, Jackie Sites, Katlin Sites, Brandy McKee, Johnathan McKee, Brianna Myers, Ella Hudson, Sadie Hudson, Wyatt Smart, Conner Smart, and Kambis Fritter; great-great-grandson: Brock Myers
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, John Sites; sister, Harriet Weaver.
The funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, in the Mexico Church of the Brethren 4460 North Mexico Road Mexico, IN with Pastor Matt Myers officiating.
The burial will take place in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, Indiana following the funeral service.
Visitation hours will be from 4-8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 9, at Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron.
