Beverley Kay Hiner
Beverley Kay Hiner, 79, Wabash, died at 2:04 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, at Wellbrooke of Wabash. She was born April 8, 1940, in Wabash County, to Gilbert and Genevieve (Barnes) Walker.
Beverley was a 1958 graduate of Wabash High School. She married Boyd J. Hiner in Wabash on Aug. 23, 1958; he died Sept. 26, 1994. She worked as a medical transcriber at the Wabash County Hospital several years. Beverley was a member of the Wabash Friends Church. She enjoyed reading, watching QVC on television, watching the birds and squirrels, and adored her longtime best friend Roxy, her dog.
She is survived by two children, Tonya Kay (Terry) Smith of Bluffton; and Thom Hiner of Wabash; daughter-in-law, Carole Hiner of Wabash; five grandchildren: Elizabeth (Travis) Patton of Wabash; Danielle (Craig) Smith-Tweddell of Louisville, Ky.; Tess (A.J.) Campbell of Bluffton; Dylan (Quinn) Hillerich and Hannah (Drake) Richardson, both of Louisville; three great-grandchildren: Aidan and Colin Patton, both of Wabash; and Ari Tweddell of Louisville; and her brother, James Walker of Peru. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Kim Hiner, and her sister, Louanne Slee.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with David Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 3-7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wabash County Cancer Society or the Animal Shelter of Wabash County .
