Jack Devon Boyer
Jack Devon Boyer, 91, a life-time resident of North Webster, died at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born April 10, 1928, in Pierceton, to Arthur and Dorothea (Willard) Boyer.
Jack graduated in 1946 from North Webster High School, was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and married Naomi Ruth Clouser on Oct. 15, 1955. He went into business with his identical twin brother, Gene Boyer, starting in 1953 through 1960 at the “Wee Fix It Shop” in North Webster, repairing small engines and lawn equipment. In about 1960 Jack opened Boyer Lawn & Garden Equipment in North Webster, which he successfully owned and operated for 40 years (1960-2000). After retirement, he enjoyed working is his garden, attending church, fishing, and going to Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi Ruth Boyer, North Webster; two daughters: Carla (Steve) Atkinson of Hibbing, Minn.; and Sarah (Joe) Braud of Moseley, Va.; five grandchildren: Julie Juntune of Virginia, Minn.; Ruthanne Atkinson, of St. Paul, Minn.; Brandon, Jacob, and Joseph Braud, all of Moseley, Va.; two great-grandchildren: Miles and Kaia Juntune of Virginia, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Gene Lavon Boyer
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 and CR 500N, North Webster with minister, Steve Councell officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery. Viewing will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home.
