Lisa M. Swope
Mrs. Lisa M. Swope, 63, Rochester, passed away unexpectedly at 6:48 a.m., Nov. 25, 2019, at Woodlawn Hospital of Rochester.
On June 16, 1956, Lisa Marie Jennings was born in Muskegon, Michigan. She was a treasured daughter of C. Lee and Beverly Mecher Jennings. Growing up as the oldest of the Jennings kids she shared her childhood with two sisters and three brothers. In 1974, Lisa graduated from Rochester High School.
In the First Baptist Church of Rochester, Lisa and Robert L. Swope were married on March 15, 1991. They have shared 28 years of life’s adventures. Lisa was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a talented software developer for the Corrisoft Corporation.
Lisa was a proud mother of two handsome sons, Rob and John, and a beautiful daughter Ashley. She thoroughly enjoyed her role as “Team Mom,” when they ran cross country and swam for the RHS Zebras. She followed their school activities, concerts and the thespian group Tri-Epsilon always being seated on the front row. Great memories were made with the kids going to Disney World. She enjoyed taking weekend trips to Chicago with her family and visiting various sites and shopping.
On summer weekends Lisa enjoyed hanging out with her family at home or on the lake. Of course, making more memories boating, fishing and simply puttering around the house taking in the conversation and chilling. Her idea of camping out was heading to the nearest Holiday Inn.
Left to cherish Lisa’s memory are her husband, Bob; two sons: John Swope of Rochester; Robert Bruder of Indianapolis; two grandchildren: Brandon Lee Swope and Amari Parson-Swope; five siblings: Michael Jennings of Barre, Vt.; Katie Miller and husband Charlie of Rochester; Brian Jennings and wife Karen of Ft. Gratiot, Mich.; Wendy Jennings of Plymouth; Chris Jennings and wife Leslie of Frisco, Texas; special friends, Debbie Frost and Lisa Calhoun; numerous nieces and nephews; and her canine companion Toulouse IV, the apricot Toy Poodle.
Preceding Lisa in death are her parents, Lee and Bev Jennings, and daughter Ashley N. Swope, on Jan. 4, 2009.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester. Private family services will be held. Joe Helt will officiate. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Cancer Fund through the Northern Indiana Community Foundation, 227 East 9th St., Rochester, IN 46975.
