Nellie M. McGrew
Nellie M. McGrew, 90, Rochester, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Logansport.
She was born on Feb. 13, 1929, in Fulton County, the daughter of John Merrit and Katy Grace (Small) Gault. On Nov. 15, 1947, in Fulton, she married Robert McGrew, who survives.
McGrew had been a homemaker and bookkeeper for her family business, McGrew Well Drilling. She had been an active member of the Eastern Star, attended the Fulton Baptist Temple, was active with the Fulton-Liberty Township Lions Club and volunteered with the fundraising project to construct the Fulton Community Building. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, quilting and sewing.
Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob” McGrew, Rochester; two sons, Kenneth R. McGrew, Fulton, Keith and wife Lyn McGrew, Rochester; grandchildren, Sara (Scott) MacGreagor, Fishers, Rusty (Daniell) McGrew, Rochester, Rob (Beth) McGrew, Kewanna, Josie McGrew, Tennessee, Kelsie (Tanner) Giles, Tenn.; thirteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna (Paul) Reffett, LaGrange. She was preceded in death by her son, Kraig McGrew in 1975, brothers, Vernell Gault, Elium Gault, Earl Gault, John Lee Gault, Lloyd Gault, George Robert Gault, sisters, Anna Champ, Essie Siders, Vivian Otto, and Bessie Kirk, and great-grandson, Owen MacGreagor.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon, Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, at the Fulton Baptist Temple, Fulton, with Pastor Bruce Russell officiating. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Fulton Cemetery, Fulton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton Community Building.
