During World War II, Edward worked for the railroad. Then, in 1960, he moved to Silver Lake after his mother passed away.
Edward was a kind person who helped raise his sister and helped his mom after his father died. He was always in a happy mood and would help anyone in need. Edward loved to garden and often grew so much that he would give away most of it. Though he was a strict father, he always supported his daughters. He taught them by example, none greater than his example of faith. Edward gave his life to the Lord. He was a faithful member of Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church and a trustee for many years. On Saturdays, Edward enjoyed going to the sale barn in Rochester, and from time to time came home with a calf or two.
Age never stopped Edward. He cut his own firewood until he was 92.
