ROCHESTER — Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation District, along with Purdue Cooperative Extension of Fulton County, are offering a free breakfast workshop and roundtable “Soil Health Systems for Agricultural Science” from 7:30-10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5.
The workshop will be hosted at Rochester Meat & Deli, 901 E. 9th St., Rochester, said a news release from Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation District.
“Join Fulton County farmers as they share their experience on the use of cover crops and other soil health practices to meet environmental challenges,” said Lois Mann of Fulton County SWCD.
Check-in will start at 7:30 a.m. followed by a breakfast catered by Rochester Meat & Deli.
From 8-10 a.m., participants will attend a presentation by Joe Rorick from Conservation Cropping Systems Initiative, “Planting Cover Crops for Success.” Following the presentation will be a round table discussion with local farmers regarding their experiences with cover crops.
This event is free of charge if those interested register by Dec. 3.
