Glen L. Knisley Sr.
Glen L. Knisley Sr., 90, Warsaw, passed away Nov. 15, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 28, 1929, in New Paris to John and Cecil (Strycker) Knisley.
He honorably served his country in the 31st Infantry Division of the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a supervisor at Goshen Rubber, retiring in 1994 after 45 years. He had a variety of interests. Among them was a lifelong love of sports. He especially enjoyed playing golf, bowling, billiards and horseshoes. He also loved riding his Honda Silverwing motorcycle and was a big Notre Dame football fan. In recent years, Glen became an avid Wii bowler at American Legion Post 253 in North Webster.
In June 1976, he married Mary Ann Whan in Syracuse. He is survived by his wife, and his children: Charlene (Darwin) Hoogenboom, Glen Knisley Jr. (Michelle Blake), Darlene (Frank) Correll, and Michael (Rhonda) Whan, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one brother, Donald (June) Knisley.
A celebration of Glen’s life will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23, at Mishler Funeral Home in Milford, with military honors. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday.
