Patton Makes It Official With Grace
WARSAW – After a year of courtship, Grace College and Kaylee Patton made it official. The senior star for the Warsaw girls basketball team signed to continue her basketball and academic career at Grace.
Patton has had quite a high school run with the Lady Tigers, including a season-ending knee injury her junior campaign that has had her working back to varsity play this winter. In her games as a junior before the injury, Patton averaged nine points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals a night, but provided as much in leadership as hard stats.
A three-year varsity competitor, Patton helped Warsaw to 20 wins her freshman year and was part of two 15-win teams in each of the last two seasons. Patton also excelled in soccer as a goalkeeper, earning a pair of letters as a freshman and junior, her junior season collecting 12 wins and nine shutouts for the Tigers.
Patton becomes the second Warsaw recruit to highlight Grace coach Dan Davis’ roster, joining 2019 graduate Maddie Ryman in the crosstown jump. The Lancers are 2-0 thus far under the highly energetic Davis in his second season.
Patton and the Lady Tigers open the 2019-20 season Saturday when it hosts Norwell.
