Leota M. Ecklebarger
Leota M. Ecklebarger, 85, Sebring, Florida, formerly of New Paris, died 6:24 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, at the home of her daughter in Goshen.
She was born Dec. 30, 1933, in Wakarusa, to Edgar and Fern (Secor) High. On Aug. 10, 1952, in Wakarusa, she married John Ecklebarger Jr.
Surviving are her husband, John; four children, Linda (Robert) Jackson, Goshen; Lynn (Debbie) Ecklebarger, Bristol; Jerry (Cindy) Ecklebarger, Nappanee; Janice (Tom) Metzler, Wakarusa; ten grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, sister, Willowdean Gerber and a brother, Arlo High.
Mrs. Ecklebarger was a homemaker and worked at the former Family Fare in Nappanee. She attended Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed crocheting and made afghans for each of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also was a 4-H Leader.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service on Friday, Nov. 8, all at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. Pastor Mark Bendes will officiate and burial will follow at Violett Cemetery.
