Two Running For Pierceton Clerk-Treasurer
PIERCETON — Two candidates are on the ballot this year for Pierceton Town Council Clerk-Treasurer.
Myra L. Mast (R) and Brian H. Hartman (L) are on the ballot for clerk-treasurer.
The other race, for town council, involves three incumbents. They are Thomas (Tom) Barker (R), Matthew W. Brubaker (R) and Armando (Mandy) Espinoza (D). They have no opposition.
Below are short profiles from the two clerk-treasurer candidates.
Myra L. Mast (R)
Mast, 54, is a long-time resident of Pierceton.
She has 20 years of corporate finance experience including, but not limited to, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Mast is running for Clerk-Treasurer because “lost trust in leadership is a concern,” she said.
“Trust between Pierceton’s citizens and the local leadership begins in the clerk’s office,” said Mast.
She envisions an office where “the clerk is available and responsive to the needs of residents by establishing a welcoming atmosphere, efficient service and continually implementing cost-effective processes,” Mast said.
“To meet community needs, the new Town Clerk-Treasurer should have experience but should also have a high level of integrity to build community trust,” said Mast. “I believe I am that person.”
Brian H. Hartman (L)
Hartman, 43, is a life long resident of Pierceton.
He has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry in a management capacity. Hartman worked closely with the town of Pierceton, as well as many residents while he managed the local PNC Bank branch. For the past two years, he worked as a self-employed contractor and electrician. He has degrees in Business Administration and Business Management.
“I have the experience, education, relationships and background to serve the town of Pierceton as the Clerk-Treasurer,“ said Hartman.“I enjoy serving the town and the residents.”
Hartman’s top concern is to focus on “better communication and strengthening the relationship between the Clerk-Treasurer and the residents, as well as the different departments and partners of the town,” he said.
“My commitment to Pierceton will continue to be my top priority,” said Hartman. “There is no other place I call home.”
