Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following accidents:
2:06 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, South SR 25 near West CR 250S, Warsaw. Drivers: Juan C. Nunez, 65, South Harding Street, Warsaw; and Bernard J. Senn, 58, CR 46, New Paris. Nunez was driving south on SR 25 and lost control of his vehicle on a curve due to a wet roadway. His vehicle skidded into the path of Senn’s northbound vehicle and struck Senn’s vehicle in the grill area. Nunez suffered a fracture in his elbow/lower arm. Senn complained of pain in his elbow/lower arm. Damages up to $25,000.
8:09 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, West Old Road 30 near North CR 750W, Warsaw. Driver: Devon M. Podlesak, 22, Hillside Drive, Plymouth. Podlesack was driving his vehicle when a deer entered the roadway. Damages up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to the following accidents:
11:32 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, Argonne Road near Hendricks Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Vivek R. Patil, 26, Columbia Drive, Winona Lake; and Carolyn S. Stokes, 65, Court Street, Winona Lake. Patil said he was driving south on Argonne Road behind Stokes’ vehicle. Stokes was stopped waiting to turn left into the Freedom Express parking lot. Patil did not stop in time and the front of his vehicle collided with the rear of Stokes’ vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
8:24 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, East Winona Avenue near Indiana Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Stanley Nicolas, 36, Chamberlin Drive, Warsaw; and Zachary S. Wolfgang Bonebra, 17, East CR 100S B, Pierceton. Nicolas said he as driving his vehicle east on Winona Avenue and attempted to turn left onto Indiana Street. Bonebra was westbound on Winona Avenue at the same time. Nicolas attempted to accelerate to avoid the collision, but the rear of his vehicle was struck by the front of Bonebra’s vehicle. Damages up to $10,000.
7:50 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, North SR 15 near Jaylynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jacelyn G. Ellinger, 18, East Portside Drive, Warsaw; and Sherry L. Wahl, 70, North CR 75E, Leesburg. Ellinger said she was driving her vehicle west on East CR 250 North approaching the intersection of North SR 15. She intent to turn left on to SR 15. She said she had a green light and began turning left onto North SR 15. Wahl was turning right on to North SR 15 from Jaylnn Street. Ellinger merged into the left southbound lane and struck the driver’s side door as Wahl’s vehicle struck the rear passenger side door of Ellinger’s vehicle. Damages up to $10,000.
12:04 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, Harrison Street near Jefferson Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Charles L. Russel, 83, Spring Hill Road, Warsaw; and Brody R. Baldridge, 27, Rutland Court, Winona Lake. Russel said he was driving his vehicle south on Harrison Street and stopped at the north-south stop sign at the intersection of Harrison Street and Jefferson Street. He proceeded into the intersection. The front of Baldridge’s westbound vehicle collided with the left side of Russel’s vehicle. Russel suffered minor bleeding on his face. Baldridge suffered a head injury and was transported to KCH for a concussion evaluation. Damages up to $10,000.
1:17 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, US 30 near CR 150W, Warsaw. Drivers: Leland R. Lewis, 82, South WolfLodge Creek Road, Coeur D Alene, ID; and Glen A. Smith, 47, East Maumee Street, Angola. Lewis said he was driving his vehicle east on US 30 in the left lane. He was paying attention to the construction crew in the closed left lane. He didn’t see Smith’s vehicle stopped in traffic and collided with the rear of Smith’s vehicle. Damages up to $10,000.
11:48 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, North Detroit Street near Plaza Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Adam C. Prater, 33, Mariners Ridge Drive, Fort Wayne; and Robert E. Miller, 29, West CR 300N, Warsaw. Parter was turning his vehicle left out of the Arby’s parking lot. His vehicle collided with Miller’s northbound vehicle when he crossed the centerline. Damages up to $10,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department responded to the following accident:
6:13 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, Wooster Road near McClain Drive, Winona Lake. Drivers: Brianna L. Beeler, 18, Kerri Lynn Lane, Kokomo; and Zebadiah L. Short, 38, South Union Street, Warsaw. Beeler was driving north on McClain Drive approaching Wooster Road. She thought Short’s vehicle was preparing to make a right turn. She attempted to turn on to Wooster Road. Short’s vehicle continued straight and collided with Beeler’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
