Medtronic Confirms Plan To Shift Some Jobs Out Of Warsaw
WARSAW — A spokesperson for Medtronic confirmed plans by the company to move some of its jobs in Warsaw to other plants.
Medtronic is transitioning some manufacturing from the facility in Warsaw, Ind., to other Medtronic manufacturing facilities within its operations network, said Michelle Claypool, senior principal communications generalist in an email to InkFreeNews.
The Warsaw site will remain open and continue to manufacture other products. “We recognize the strong work, dedication, and quality of the Warsaw team and are providing employee assistance to help impacted employees through the transition,” Claypool said.
“Regarding the number of positions, we do not have a specific number of impacts to communicate at this time as the total impact to employees may change over the lifecycle of the project, which will occur in phases over the next two years.”
Claypool added that Medtronic operates within a highly competitive global healthcare environment and that the company “consistently evaluates operations to advance growth, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen our position for the future.”
Confirmation about Medtronic comes less than a day after another Warsaw company, Winona PVD Coatings, announced a plan to close operations.
