Robert James “Bob” Carr
Robert James “Bob” Carr, 94, of North Webster, passed away at 2:05 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, at Mason Healthcare & Rehab in Warsaw.
He was born on Sept. 17, 1925, in Montpelier, to Everett and Margaret (Bales) Carr.
He grew up in Muncie and graduated in 1943 from Muncie Central High School. He was married on June 26, 1948, in Muncie, to Mary E. Gibson who preceded him on July 7, 1996. He retired in 1974 from Delco Battery in Muncie, IN after 30 years of service. In 1975 he moved to Delton, MI where he lived for 40 years before moving to North Webster in 2014.
He attended the St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Syracuse and was a former member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Delton, Mich.
He is survived by a daughter, Deea (Rick) Vester of North Webster; two sons, Robert (Linda) Carr II, of Mentone, and Fred Carr, of Elkhart; 12 Grandchildren, 13 great-grand and 4 great-great-grandchildren; a brother,Gene Carr of Muncie; a sister, Phyllis Keeler, of Muncie
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son, Dean Carr.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, 6941 E. Waco Dr., Syracuse, IN. A funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m. on Monday in the church with father Andrew Nazareth officiating. Graveside services will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at Prairieville Cemetery in Prairieville, Mich.
