Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following accidents:
4:35 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, South Packerton Road near East CR 600E, Warsaw. Driver: John J. Rheinheimer, 29, Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Rheinheimer was driving his vehicle north on South Packerton Road when a deer entered the roadway. Damages up to $5,000.
11:54 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, South SR 19 near West CR 700S, Mentone. Driver: Amanda L. Ousley, 28, South Powell Street, Macy. Ousley was driving her vehicle south on SR 19 when a deer entered the roadway. Damages up to $1,000.
8:11 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, North CR 300E near East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Driver: Taylor M. Davis, 24, Sterling Way Court, Fort Wayne. Davis was driving his vehicle north on CR 300E when a deer entered the roadway. Damages up to $1,000.
1:40 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, South County Farm Road near West Hoppus Road, Warsaw. Driver: Gracie E. Compton, 17, North Union Street, Warsaw. Compton was driving her vehicle north on County Farm Road. While attempting to pass another vehicle in front of her she realized she would be passing in a no-passing zone, overcorrected as she returned to the regular lane and ran off the right side of the road. Her vehicle slid sideways and struck a highway sign. She complained of head pain. Damages up to $10,000.
