Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
7:55 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, East Old Road 30, east of South CR 900E, Pierceton. Driver: Heather M. Fest, 43, West CR 700N, Larwill. Fest was traveling east on Old Road 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
6:05 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, North Warner Road, north of East CR 1300N, Syracuse. Driver: Kellishandra C. Mendoza, 19, County Road 46, New Paris. Mendoza was traveling south on North Warner Road when her vehicle left the roadway, causing her vehicle to overturn and rest on its top. Mendoza complained of general body pain from the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
5:31 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, West US 30, east of North Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Lake H. Price, 25, North Tenth Street, Pierceton. Price was traveling west on West US 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
1:24 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, South SR 13, west of South CR 675E, Pierceton. Drivers: Keith G. Cripe, 61, North Beau Peep Lane, Cromwell; and Ricardo Prater, 47, South High Street, North Manchester. Cripe was traveling north on South SR 13 when he fell asleep. This caused his vehicle to cross the center line of the roadway, striking Prater’s vehicle head-on. Cripe was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for minor injuries to his left arm and his head. Damage up to $100,000.
10:02 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, East Old Road 30, south of South CR 325E, Warsaw. Driver: Ryan E. Newton, 18, East East Ridge Drive, Warsaw. Newton was traveling south on CR 325E when an animal entered the roadway. While attempting to avoid the animal, Newton swerved his vehicle, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn, resting on its top. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $10,000.
Silver Lake
Officers with the Silver Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
9:55 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, South SR 15, south of Cemetery Drive, Silver Lake. Drivers: Peggy L. Sickafus, 56, North Ogden Road, North Manchester; and Kailey N. Rogers, 21, North Jefferson Street, Silver Lake. Sickafus was backing her vehicle out of a driveway when she backed into Rogers’ vehicle. Rogers had already pulled her vehicle out of her driveway onto SR 15 when her vehicle was struck by Sickafus’ vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:01 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, Wilson Street, east of Logan Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Bruce A. Summers, 31, Wilson Street, Warsaw; and James L. Weirick, 82, North Oakwood Drive, Warsaw. Summers was backing his vehicle out of a driveway when he struck Weirick’s vehicle as it was passing by. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $10,000.
10:26 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, SR 15, north of CR 350N, Warsaw. Drivers: Andrea S. Hoeppner, 41, West Hobart Court, Warsaw; and Tonya M. Cook, 41, South SR 25, Warsaw. Cook’s vehicle was stopped in the roadway and was waiting to turn when her vehicle was struck by Hoeppner’s. Damage up to $2,500.
8:49 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, West US 30, near North CR 150W, Warsaw. Drivers: Jacob K. Reed, 31, Aberdeen Road, Vernon, Ala.; and Hiroshi Kusama, 49, Monticello Boulevard, Fort Wayne. Reed was traveling west on West US 30, approaching the intersection of North CR 150W, when he rear-ended a trailer that was attached to Kusama’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $25,000.
4:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, East Prairie Street, east of South Indiana Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Keanna K. Horton, 21, Arlington Lane Villa 18, Warsaw; and Terrence P. Roe, 50, South Southwood Drive, Warsaw. Horton was traveling west on East Prairie Street when she struck Roe’s vehicle as he was attempting to turn left. Damage up to $5,000.
12:10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, Lake City Highway, west of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kristine A. Mathews, 30, Freedom Street, Huntington; and Cassandra N. Ibarra, 20, Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Mathews was traveling west on Lake City Highway when she rear-ended Ibarra’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
11:48 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2473 Jalynn Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Adam C. Martin, 36, South CR 300W, Columbia City; and Ricky J. Whitaker, 62, Oriole Drive, Warsaw. Martin said he was backing his vehicle out of a parking spot and was rear-ended by Whitaker’s vehicle while Whitaker looked in his vehicle for a bag of food. Damages up to $10,000.
