Kenneth Ray ‘Kenny’ Knisley
Kenneth Ray “Kenny” Knisley, 87, Syracuse, passed away at 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, 2019 at his home. He was born on Jan. 26, 1932, in New Paris to John and Cecil (Strycker) Knisley.
He attended New Paris Public Schools and was a Korean War Army veteran. He was married on April 13, 1952, Kathryn L. Huey who preceded him on July 8, 2017, and was a lifetime New Paris, Goshen, and Syracuse area resident. He retired from Goshen Rubber Company after 25 years, formerly worked at AC Fabrication in Goshen for 20 years, and was a part time bartender and cook at the Wawasee Bowling Alley for many years.
He was an avid bowler.
He is survived by three sons: Kevin Knisley of Bristol, Dana (Gloria) Knisley of Syracuse, and Brian (Sarah) Knisley of Syracuse; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Donald (June) Knisley of New Paris and Glen (Mary Ann) Knisley of Warsaw
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Dixie Knisley, two sisters, Ruth Mench and Mary Jane Byrd, and four brothers, Carl, Clarence, Ralph, and John Knisley Jr.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral and military services will follow on Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. Private family burial will take place in the Solomon Creek Cemetery at a later date.
